UNIQUE PIECE - WATCH HAND PAINTED BY THE ARTIST MARTA SESANA IN COLLABORATION WITH GRIMOLDI MILANO
In my painting I don't start from a real model but I try to give shape to the thought by first shaping a sketch which is my vision of reality. It is of no use to me to start from a real model, I want to go beyond realism, in fact I filter the reality that I live and see every day through the images that arise from my thoughts. To do this it is essential for me to portray real situations filtered by my reflection. As I was telling you, I start by making some sketches in order to be able to touch my vision of the world first-hand and once this is done I proceed with the painting which will never be a faithful copy of my starting model, the work in fact develops freely in the pictorial and chromatic flow. I have always preferred vivid colors, similar to those in children's games or psychedelic colors which for me have an expressive purpose that conveys sensations and emotions. With the Lockdown in 2020 I started drawing on moleskine with uniposca, tempera and acrylics, letting the unconscious flow freely, always looking for a vision. From there I then decided to bring this modality into my pictorial works, executed in oil on linen. Currently I also dedicate myself to sculpture, I have created works in papier-mâché and one in terracotta painted with enamels, freeing the subject that arises from my thoughts which is thus shaped by my hands.
